Your data is your business.
We despise tracking cookies just as much as you do. Our privacy philosophy is incredibly simple. We collect only what is strictly necessary to keep the lights on, and we leave the rest of your digital life alone.
The Bare Minimum
Most modern websites treat their visitors like a product to be sold. They load dozens of tracking scripts, monitor exactly how many milliseconds you hover over a button, and sell that profile to the highest bidder in real time. We think that is fundamentally wrong.
When you visit simpleprog, you are completely anonymous. You can browse our entire library of programming concepts, copy every single code snippet, and run live code without ever giving us your name or email address. We do not want your personal data, and we certainly do not want the liability of storing it.
What We Actually Collect
Account Information
If you voluntarily choose to create an account to track your learning progress or subscribe to our newsletter, we will securely store the email address you provide. We use this strictly to manage your account and send you the updates you specifically asked for. Nothing else.
Analytics Data
We need to know if the website is crashing or if a particular article is incredibly popular. To do this, we use Umami Analytics. Umami is an open source, absolutely privacy focused analytics platform. It does not use cookies, it does not track you across the web, and it anonymizes all incoming data. We get high level metrics, and you get to keep your privacy.
Server Logs
Like nearly every server on the internet, our infrastructure generates basic access logs. These logs may contain IP addresses, browser user agents, and the time of the request. These logs are used purely for diagnosing technical issues, preventing abuse, and defending against DDoS attacks. They are routinely deleted.
Third Party Sharing
This section is short because our policy is simple. We do not sell your data. We do not rent your email address. We do not share your information with advertising networks or data brokers. The only time we would ever share data is if we are legally compelled to do so by a valid court order, and we will fight to protect your privacy every step of the way.
Questions and Concerns
We believe in total transparency. If you have any questions about this policy, if you want to know exactly what data we have on you, or if you want us to completely wipe your account from our servers, just let us know. You can reach the core team directly at contact@simpleprog.com and we will take care of it immediately.
